How to: Change video resolution in Windows 95.

Solution:

Change the color resolution in the Windows 95 'Control Panel'.

CAUTION: It is possible to set the resolution and color palette on non-standard video adapters where it will be difficult, if not impossible, to read what is on the screen or find the mouse. If this happens, boot the system in 'Safe Mode' and restore the previous resolution and color palette settings using the same steps in the procedure below.
NOTE: Experiment with the effects of the resolution changes. Start with the lowest 'Color palette' (16 colors) and 'Desktop size' (640 x 480) selection until the desired effect is reached.
NOTE 1: If you only change the 'Desktop size', the change will take affect without having to restart Windows 95.
NOTE 2: Click 'No' to have the changes made the next time the computer is started.
